What to expect at your initial evaluation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting approximately one hour. It's not an interrogation — it's a conversation. We want to understand your full story:
- Current symptoms and how they affect your daily life
- Medical and psychiatric history
- Current medications and prior treatments
- Family history and social context
- Your personal goals for treatment
By the end of your visit, you'll have a clear sense of your diagnosis (or working diagnosis), your treatment options, and the next steps — all explained in plain language.
Telehealth Available
Can't make it in person? No problem.
We offer secure telehealth appointments for patients anywhere in Arizona. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera. Telehealth appointments are identical in quality and care to in-person visits — just from the comfort of your own space.

Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major commercial and Medicare plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and more. Visit our Insurance & Fees page or call us to verify your specific plan.
How long is the first appointment?
Initial psychiatric evaluations are approximately one hour. Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications (including doses), and any relevant prior records if you have them. If you've completed your intake forms online, you're all set.
What ages do you see?
We see children ages 5 and up, teens, and adults of all ages. Visit our Who We Help page for details on what we offer each age group.
Can I schedule telehealth for my first appointment?
Yes — telehealth is available for new patients throughout Arizona. Just let us know when you reach out and we'll get you set up with a secure video link.
